Mixing Card — Exact Recipes per Container
Print this and keep it with the kit. Everything is water + concentrate; add water first, concentrate second, swirl (don't shake foamers hard). NYC tap water is fine for all of these.
One product per container. The IK holds Touch-Less and nothing else; the Kwazar holds ONR Wash & Wax and nothing else. Nothing gets mixed and nothing gets rinsed between products — only after use, for storage.
Handy conversions: 1 oz = 30 mL · 1 tsp = 5 mL · 1 tbsp = 15 mL · 1 gal = 3.8 L (128 oz)
Quick reference#
| Container | Product | Amount | Ratio |
|---|---|---|---|
| IK Foam Pro 2+ (1.25 L) | Touch-Less | 6–25mL | 0.5–2% (2% max) |
| Kwazar 1 L | ONR W&W — pre-spray, drying aid, clay lube | 15mL | 1:64 |
| Bucket 2 gal | ONR W&W | 1oz | 1:256 |
Each container holds one product. The IK is Touch-Less only; the Kwazar is ONR W&W only. Nothing gets mixed, nothing gets rinsed between uses. The orange (wet) insert is now unused — keep it, it is the escape hatch if the trigger bottle ever fails on a bay day.
1. IK Foam Pro 2+ — Bilt-Hamber Touch-Less (dedicated)#
Insert: grey (standard) — this is the default, not green. Green (dry) only if you want more cling on a vertical panel, and for wheels. Fill ≈ 1.25 L · Pressure: 40 psi via Schrader valve (or ~15–20 hand pumps), never "max" — the factory relief valve is tared at 3 bar / 43.5 psi, so 40 sits just under it by design
| Soiling | Touch-Less per 1.25 L fill | % at panel |
|---|---|---|
| Maintenance / light film | 6mL1¼ tsp | 0.5% |
| Moderate road film | 12–15mL2½–3 tsp | ~1% |
| Very dirty / end of winter / salt crust | 25mL5 tsp / 0.85 oz | 2% — manufacturer maximum |
2% is the ceiling, not a starting point. Bilt Hamber's PIR guidance is 0.5% for maintenance and up to 2% for very dirty vehicles. There is no 4% and there never was — an earlier version of this card carried one and it was wrong.
And the ceiling bites harder with a pump sprayer than with a lance. PIR describes concentration at the panel, after a pressure washer dilutes the draw with its own water flow. The IK does no such dilution: what is in the tank is what lands on the paint. So the tank number and the panel number are the same number, and 25 mL in 1.25 L is already at the maximum.
If 2% and a full dwell will not shift it, the answer is not more product. It is more dwell, more rinse volume, or a different problem entirely — tar, iron or bonded contamination, each of which wants its own Step 0 treatment rather than a stronger pre-wash.
Half fill (≈ 0.6 L): 3 mL / 6–8 mL / 12 mL.
- One 1.25 L fill covers a full SUV in thin, even pre-wash coverage — thickness is not the goal; dwell is. Chasing thick foam wastes product; the cleaning is chemical, not visual.
- Warm water in winter helps.
- Dwell 1–5 min, never let it dry, pressure-rinse thoroughly.
- At the bay, carry the concentrate bottle — not premixed solution. Refill the tank with bay water and add the dose there.
- Always fully depressurize with the relief valve before opening. It is a pressure vessel.
- Rinse the tank and inserts after use so it doesn't crust in the mixer. This is for storage, not for changeover — the tank never sees another product.
2. Kwazar Mercury Pro+ 1000 mL — ONR Wash & Wax (dedicated)#
Nozzle: fine cone mist · Fill ≈ 950 mL so it doesn't slosh out
One bottle, one ratio, three jobs:
| Mix | ONR W&W per 950 mL | Ratio |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 15mL1 tbsp / ½ oz | 1:64 |
| Lighter, if glass hazes | 8mL1½ tsp | 1:128 |
That one mix does three jobs: curbside pre-spray (mist panels before the bucket wipe), at-bay drying aid (mist onto rinsed, wet panels, dry with a towel), and clay lube for the Step 0 reset.
Half bottle (500 mL): 7–8 mL standard, 4 mL lighter.
- Wet, not soak. 1:64 is the richer mix — it is the old "hot mix" made standard, and the trade for slickness is a higher streak risk on a hot panel. Mist lightly and wipe within a minute.
- If the windshield or dark trim hazes, drop to 1:128 for the pre-spray and keep 1:64 for the drying aid. That is the fallback; don't abandon the one-bottle setup at the first streak, but don't ignore it either.
- One fill is roughly one full-SUV pre-spray with nothing to spare. Bay-day planning, including the refill and the trigger-pull problem, is in the pre-wash guide.
- Shake before use (W&W can separate slightly). Keeps for weeks–months closed.
- Label the bottle "ONR W&W 1:64." Never use it on interior glass — W&W has wax in it. Interior glass gets plain ONR blue or glass cleaner.
3. Bucket — ONR Wash & Wax rinseless wash#
Bucket: ~2 gal (7.5 L) water over the Cyclone Dirt Trap · Media: Ultra Black Sponge or plush towels
| Strength | ONR W&W per 2 gal | Ratio | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 1oz30 mL / 2 tbsp | 1:256 | Normal wash |
| Hot mix | 2oz60 mL / 4 tbsp | 1:128 | Hot day, or wants more slickness |
For 3 gal: 1.5 oz standard / 3 oz hot. Dump and rinse the bucket after every wash.
4. Optional — plain ONR (blue)#
| Use | Product | Mix |
|---|---|---|
| Interior glass | plain ONR blue only (never W&W) | 1:64 — 15 mL per 1 L, or just use glass cleaner |
Clay lube no longer needs its own mix — the Kwazar is already at 1:64, which is clay-lube strength.
